Dhaka, Nov. 26 -- The low-pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka coast intensified into a well-marked low over the same area at 6:00 am on Wednesday, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

It is likely to move north-northwesterly direction and intensify further, UNB reported citing the Met Office.

Besides, a deep depression over the Strait of Malacca and adjoining area intensified into a deep depression first, then into a cyclonic storm "Senyar' over the same area and lay centred at near lat. 5.0degN & long. 98.0degE at 6:00 am on Wednesday.

It is likely to move in a westward direction.
