Dhaka, Jan. 11 -- The National Board of Revenue (NBR) is going to launch the payment of large amounts of tax through mobile financial services (MFS) to simplify tax payments by corporates.

The country's largest MFS provider, bKash's online merchant wallet, will be used to facilitate tax payments.

The new facility is set to be introduced today at the NBR through a demonstration.

Talking to The Financial Express, Secretary of the Internal Resources Division (IRD) and NBR Chairman Md Abdur Rahman Khan said the system would help expedite the payment of large amounts of taxes by corporate taxpayers using MFS, instead of visiting banks.
