Dhaka, March 6 -- Bangladesh's labour law is being updated on "international standards" for improving the living conditions of millions of labourers employed in different sectors.

Chief Adviser Professor Yunus issued the instructions to this effect on Wednesday for the officials concerned to get it down as soon as possible, said a spokesperson for the CA Office.

He issued the directions during a meeting with the officials of the Labour and Employment Ministry ahead of the 353rd session of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to be held in Geneva on March 10-20.

Labour and Employment Ministry adviser M. Sakhawat Hossain will lead the Bangladesh delegation at the ILO meet on current issues confronting the global labour front.
