Dhaka, Dec. 18 -- Former prime minister and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is now able to receive medical treatment, and her condition remains stable, her personal physician and BNP Standing Committee member Professor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain said on Thursday.

He shared the update during a briefing in front of the hospital on Thursday afternoon, according to local media reports.

Khaleda Zia has been suffering from multiple chronic and complex health conditions for a long time, including liver and kidney complications, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis and infection-related illnesses.
