Dhaka, Nov. 13 -- Unidentified assailants stabbed and killed the son of Rajshahi Metropolitan and Sessions Judge Mohammad Abdur Rahman at their residence in Dabtala area of Rajshahi on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Tawseef Rahman Suman, son of the judge.

Abdur Rahman's wife, Tasmin Nahar, was also seriously injured in the attack and was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) for treatment.

Rajshahi Medical College Hospital spokesperson Shankar Kumar Biswas confirmed the incident to the media.

Police have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to identify and arrest the attackers.

One suspect has been detained, who is also receiving treatment at the RMCH, according to police.
