Dhaka, Sept. 4 -- The Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (JUCSU) Election Commission (EC) has made dope test mandatory for all candidates contesting the upcoming JUCSU and hall union elections.

Professor Dr. Md. Moniruzzaman, Chief Election Commissioner for the JUCSU elections, announced the decision on Tuesday night.

"The majority of participants in a meeting on Sunday called for mandatory dope test to uphold integrity and fairness in the elections. Considering their feedback, the EC unanimously decided to implement the measure," he said.

The EC has already issued a letter to the university administration, requesting necessary measures to ensure smooth implementation of the test.
