Dhaka, May 4 -- Japanese ambassador to Bangladesh Saida Shinichi today called on BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at the party chairperson's Gulshan political office.

BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and organizing secretary Shama Obaid were present, reports BSS.

After the meeting, Amir Khasru told reporters that various issues including physical condition of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, her home return, trade, investment and elections were discussed.

He said Japan has always been a development partner of Bangladesh. They (Japan) naturally want the working environment to continue with the new government that comes in the future, he said.
