Dhaka, Sept. 23 -- The namaz-e-janaza of firefighter Shamim Ahmed, who succumbed to his burn injuries in a chemical fire in Tongi, was held with state honor at the Department of Fire Service and Civil Defence premises in the city around 8 pm today.

Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Special Assistant to Chief Adviser Md. Khuda Baksh Chowdhury and Director General of the Department of Fire Service and Civil Defence Brigadier General Muhammad Jahed Kamal were present at the janaza along with senior officials and personnel of the ministry and the fire service department, BSS reports.

Prior to the janaza, the Home Adviser paid solemn tribute to the coffin of the fallen firefighter.
