Dhaka, Feb. 13 -- Jamaat-e-Islami has begun its first meeting with the Election Commission, or EC, in a decade amid its ongoing reform efforts and election preparations.

A six-strong delegation led by the party's Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar visited the EC headquarters on Thursday. The delegation also included Jamaat's Assistant Secretary General AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad.

Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin presided over the meeting, accompanied by election commissioners Abdur Rahmanel Masud, Begum Tahmida Ahmad, Anwarul Islam Sarkar, and Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah, according to a bdnews24.com report.
