Dhaka, Feb. 12 -- Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Jahirul Islam has been declared winner from the Chattogram-16 constituency in unofficial results of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election.

He bagged 93,167 votes while his nearest rival BNP candidate Mishkatul Islam Chowdhury got 83,105 votes, reports BSS.

Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed has disclosed the information at a briefing held at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon.
