Dhaka, June 16 -- A student of the Islamic University (IU) died in a bus-truck collision in Sadar Upazila of Kushtia on his way back to campus after the Eid vacation. Two other IU students were injured in the same accident.

The accident occurred in the Bittipara area of Batoil Union on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Rashedul Islam, a student of the 2018-19 academic year of the Arabic Language and Literature Department. The injured were Abdur Razzak, a student of the 2017-18 academic year of the Al-Fiqh and Law Department, and Abu Naeem, a student of the Development Studies Department.

According to sources, he boarded a Shyamoli Paribahan bus from Batoil to go to the campus on Monday morning.
