Dhaka, Feb. 8 -- A day-long International Medical Tourism Conference has taken place in Dhaka city, aiming to help flourish both the inbound and outbound local medical tourism industry.

The conference, with the participation of both local and foreign hospitals, health service providers and other related organisations, took place at Daffodil Plaza in the city's Dhanmondi, said Bangladesh Medical Tourism Association (BMTA) in a statement.

The main purpose of the conference was to create networking among local and foreign medical service providers and to promote local medical tourism industry outside the country, it said.
