Dhaka, May 30 -- India has urged Bangladesh's interim administration to hold "inclusive, free and fair elections at an early date," as political uncertainty deepens and mass protests continue to challenge the authority of the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus.

The call came from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs amid growing demands from political parties and the army for elections to be held by December, contrary to the interim government's proposed timeline that stretches to mid-2026, reports bdnews24.com.
