Dhaka, Oct. 6 -- India is ready to work with any political party that comes to power in Bangladesh through the people's mandate, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said on Monday.

Speaking at an interactive session with a visiting delegation from the Diplomatic Correspondents Association of Bangladesh (DCAB), Misri expressed hope that elections in Bangladesh would be held "at the earliest possible time."

Responding to a question about Bangladesh's request for the extradition of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, he said the matter was under judicial consideration. "Since this is a judicial process, the Indian government is examining the details," Misri said.
