Dhaka, Feb. 23 -- Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) organised a workshop on "Installation of industrial rooftop solar system - prospects and benefits" at BGMEA Auditorium on 22 February 2025.

The objective of the workshop was to promote rooftop solar technology among the members of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), according to a media release.

The cost of electricity generation from solar rooftop is cheaper than that of grid tariff.

Thus, financing such kinds of projects makes financial sense apart from achieving the country's target of renewable energy-based power generation, the release says.
