Dhaka, July 9 -- Continuous monsoon rain from Saturday has left tens of thousands of people living in the hilly regions of Chattogram in high risks of landslides.

Rainfall continued till the filing of this report on yesterday (Tuesday) evening from Saturday and the local meteorological department recorded a total of 56.6 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours to 3 pm yesterday.

Hoisting signal number 3 for Chattogram on the day, sources said that rain may continue for several more days in Chattogram, which might leave low lying areas of Chattogram waterlogged.
