Bangladesh, March 14 -- The High Court (HC) expressed on Wednesday its resentment on Department of Environment (DoE) for not taking necessary steps in checking growing air pollution in Dhaka.

"The steps taken so far to check air pollution have disappointed us. We are angry," the court said.

An HC division bench comprising Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader came up with the observations and asked director of DoE Md Ziaul Haque to appear before it on April 10 to explain his agency's position.

The court also asked the director general of DoE to submit a report on the level of air pollution in the capital and the steps taken to check this, on that day.
