Dhaka, Oct. 11 -- A concert in the port city of Chattogram turned violent on Saturday night after chants of "Joy Bangla" reportedly sparked clashes and gunfire, local media said.
One person, 23-year-old Md Sharif, was shot and seriously wounded. He was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for treatment, according to the reports.
The incident took place around 8:30 pm at a convention centre near GEC intersection. It was not immediately clear who opened fire or who was involved. Another person was also injured but not identified.
Videos on social media showed a group trying to vandalise the main gate of the venue while security forces fired into the air to control the situation.
