Dhaka, Dec. 18 -- Miscreants set fire to the Shorshadi Bazar branch of Grameen Bank in Feni Sadar early Thursday, damaging motorcycles and furniture inside the bank premises.

According to bank officials, the attackers poured petrol from outside the main gate and set the building on fire late at night. Three motorcycles were parked inside the gate, and two benches were gutted in the blaze.

Shorshadi Bazar branch manager Ashok Kumar Debnath said the perpetrators climbed over the boundary wall to enter the premises and carried out the arson from outside the main building's gate.

"Around 3:40 am, the night guard noticed the fire, and with the help of locals, initially managed to bring the fire under control," he said.
