Dhaka, Jan. 22 -- A Jashore court on Wednesday sentenced former Awami League MP Shahin Chakladar to four years in jail in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) around 16 years ago.

Judge of Jashore Special and Sessions Judge Court SM Nurul Islam also fined him Tk 20,000 and ordered the confiscation of his properties worth over Tk 3.8 million (Tk 3,803,685).

The court issued a warrant for his arrest, said the district unit of Awami League law affairs secretary Advocate Gazi Abdul Kadir, who stood for the former lawmaker, UNB reports.
