Dhaka, May 20 -- The government on Tuesday approved separate proposals for procuring one cargo of LNG and 70,000 metric tonnes of fertiliser to meet the country's growing demand.

The approvals came from the 20th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase this year, held on Tuesday at the Bangladesh Secretariat with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair, reports BSS.

Following a proposal from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, Petrobangla would procure one cargo of LNG from the spot market following the international quotation method from M/S Gunvor Singapore Pte Limited, Singapore, with around Tk 5.86 billion.
