Dhaka, June 24 -- Amid growing concerns over recent incidents of mob violence, Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Monday said legal action will be taken against everyone involved, including members of law enforcement, if found guilty.

"Footage is being reviewed. If any member of the law enforcement agencies is involved, they too will face consequences," the adviser told reporters after a meeting on law and order ahead of the national election, UNB reports.

Asked how many people have been prosecuted so far, he said, "I cannot give an exact number, but action has been taken against many."
