Dhaka, Feb. 3 -- Like every year, the government will sell key animal protein items at subsidised prices during the upcoming Ramadan to help ease pressure on consumers, officials said on Sunday.
Under the programme, beef will be sold at Tk 650 per kg, milk at Tk 80 per litre, eggs at Tk 96 per dozen (Tk 8.0 per piece), and dressed poultry meat at Tk 250 per kg, according to decisions taken at a meeting on Ramadan-focused fair-price sales held at the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock.
Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter directed officials to expand the number of sales points compared to last year to ensure wider access for consumers.
