Dhaka, March 6 -- The government may increase the commission of the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) dealers by Tk 0.50 to offset the impacts of various issues, including rising transport costs, sources say.

It came as TCB recently sent a proposal to the commerce ministry seeking an increase in the commission. The state-run organisation sought the approval as per a meeting of its board of directors held in January this year.

The proposal was sent responding to the requests of TCB dealers across the country. They made the requests due to the increase in the prices of fuel and essential items, as well as transportation costs in the planes, remote regions, and the hill areas of Chittagong Hill Tracts.
