Dhaka, Nov. 9 -- Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin has announced that the government will allow the import of onions if the price of onions in the market does not decrease within the next four to five days.

He told reporters at a press conference held at the Commerce Ministry. Commerce Secretary and other senior officials of the ministry were present at the press meet.

The Commerce Adviser said, "We are keeping a close eye on the onion market. There is sufficient stock of onions in the country. New onions will be available in the next two weeks. Even then, if the prices do not come down in the next four to five days, then approval will be given for importing onions."
