Dhaka, March 2 -- The main focus of the interim government is to keep the prices of daily essentials at a tolerable level during the holy month of Ramadan, said Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the chief adviser, on Saturday.
Addressing a press briefing in the city, he said the prices of essential commodities are much lower this Ramadan compared to that of the previous holy months.
He said that prices of certain commodities like edible oil and dates tend to go up during this period due to their high demand. "Considering this aspect, the government has been making preparations to keep the prices at a tolerable level" he said.
