Dhaka, May 29 -- The government is reportedly pushing for a leadership reshuffle at the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), as tensions rise over the current administration led by BCB President Faruk Ahmed, as per local media reports.
According to sources, a message was relayed to Faruk Ahmed on behalf of Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, requesting him to step down from his position. The communication, delivered a day earlier, was part of a broader initiative to initiate change at the top of the BCB.
However, Faruk Ahmed has firmly rejected the suggestion of voluntary resignation. In a statement issued earlier on Thursday, he declared that he would not step down of his own accord.
