Dhaka, May 16 -- This year, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, government officials and employees in Bangladesh will enjoy a continuous 10-day holiday. To facilitate this, the government has declared June 11 and 12 (Wednesday and Thursday) as public holidays by executive order.
However, to compensate for these additional holidays, government offices will remain open on two Saturdays-17 and 24 May-which are usually weekly holidays, according to local media.
Following approval from the Advisory Council, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on 7 May declaring the two executive holidays (June 11 and 12) and instructing that government offices remain open on the aforementioned Saturdays (May 17 and 24).
