Dhaka, Feb. 5 -- The price of gold in Bangladesh has surged once again, setting a new record.
The price of the best quality gold, 22-carat, has risen by Tk 2,928 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing the new price to Tk 147,818.
The new price will come into effect from Thursday, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced on Wednesday night, attributing the latest hike to a rise in the price of refined gold in the local market.
The revised rates for other gold categories are: 21-carat solid gold: Tk 141,099 per bhori, 18-carat gold: Tk 120,944 per bhori, and traditional gold: Tk 99,529 per bhori.
