Dhaka, Dec. 23 -- Gold prices jumped to an all-time high at Tk 222,082 per bhori in the local market as the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) revised the price of the 22-carat gold anew on Monday night.

The new rate will come into effect from today (Tuesday), BAJUS said in a statement.

BAJUS adjusted the gold prices again just a day after it raised the price of 22-carat gold to Tk 218,116 per bhori.

The announcement of latest hike came hours after gold prices crossed the US$4,400-per-ounce mark for the first time in the global market, driven by expectations of US interest rate cuts and continued safe-haven demand.
