Dhaka, Nov. 11 -- Within just 24 hours, Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has once again increased gold prices in the local market, this time by Tk 4,188 per bhori.
With the latest adjustment, the price of 22-carat gold now stands at Tk 2,08,471 per bhori (11.664 grams), reports UNB.
The new rates will come into effect from Wednesday, according to a BAJUS press release issued on Tuesday night.
BAJUS said the price hike was prompted by an increase in the price of pure gold (Tejabi gold) in the local market. Considering the overall situation, the association decided to revise the prices accordingly.
The new rates are:
21-carat gold will cost Tk 1,99,000 per bhori
18-carat gold will cost Tk 1,70,563 per bhori
