Dhaka, April 20 -- Ambassador of France to Bangladesh Marie Masdupuy on Sunday welcomed the Queen of the Chakma people and the Chakma circle in Bangladesh, Rani Yan Yan, to the embassy.
Rani Yan is a dedicated human rights defender, advocating for the protection of indigenous peoples' rights, reports UNB.
Talking about the presence of the Chakma Community in France, the Embassy said it all began with the journey of 72 children from the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of Bangladesh to France in 1987.
