Dhaka, Aug. 18 -- The government has suspended four more officials of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) for allegedly obstructing official duties during the recent movement.
To this effect, the NBR on Monday issued four separate orders, signed by NBR chairman Md Abdur Rahman Khan.
With these suspensions, a total of 31 officials and employees from the rank of NBR Member down to security staff have been temporarily suspended over the past one and a half months due to the movement.
According to the letters, after the government issued the Revenue Policy and Revenue Management Ordinance 2025 on May 12, officials and employees of NBR's Customs, Excise and VAT, and Income Tax departments staged protests.
