Dhaka, May 25 -- Four youths injured during the July mass uprising attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison on Sunday while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Ophthalmology in Dhaka.
They were immediately transferred to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College after the incident.
Their condition is improving, and they are on the path to recovery, according to medical sources.
However, the reason behind their act of poisoning is still unknown.
The victims reportedly voiced strong disappointment over the government's inaction.
They said although assurances were made repeatedly, no meaningful measures have been implemented over the past nine months to ensure their advanced medical treatment or rehabilitation.
