Dhaka, Feb. 24 -- The government on Sunday sent four Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of police into forced retirement in its latest attempt to overhaul the administrative sector.

Senior Secretary Nasimul Gani of the Home Ministry signed separate notifications issued on that day in this regard.

The police officers forced into retirement are Anti-Terrorism Unit DIG Md Nisharul Arif, River Police DIG Md Abdul Quddus Amin, Highway Police DIG Md Azad Mia, and Amena Begum.

According to the notification, the DIGs will receive retirement benefits as per provisions.
