Dhaka, Nov. 13 -- A fire broke out at the Khulna Sadar sub-registrar office early Thursday, reportedly caused by a petrol bomb attack.
The incident occurred around 3:00 am, police said.
According to sources, several chairs and tables were burned in the blaze. A unit from the Tutpara Fire Station rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. Two plastic bottles were recovered from the spot for examination.
Wahidur Rahman Nannu, the office's security guard, said the fire started in the deed writers' section, burning furniture.
"The fire service responded quickly-otherwise, the damage could have been far worse," he said, adding that the attackers hurled two petrol bombs through the rear grill before fleeing.
