Dhaka, May 24 -- Reform in Bangladesh's export-import policy is a must for establishing resilience and long-term competitiveness of the country to cope with the post-LDC situation.

The country should also diversify its export basket in a bid to achieve its desired economic goal, economist Selim Raihan said on Saturday.

The country's graduation to middle income from LDC is not the end, rather a pivot toward competitive, sustainable development, he added.

He made the observations while presenting a keynote paper at a seminar titled "Export-Import Policies in Bangladesh: Requirements & Challenges upon LDC Graduation" organised by the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) at Motijheel office in the capital.
