Dhaka, Feb. 19 -- A group of former employees of Grameenphone, one of the leading telecom operators of the country, has demanded financial and social compensation as well as reinstatement.

They also called for the cancellation of all illegal dismissal orders issued by the Grameenphone authorities. They made the demand at a press conference held at the Jatiya Press Club in the capital on Tuesday under the banner of "Laid-off and Deprived Grameenphone Workers Unity Council".
