Dhaka, June 5 -- Emergency medical services at the National Institute of Ophthalmology and Hospital in the capital resumed on Wednesday on a limited scale after a weeklong suspension caused by clashes at the facility.

A doctor at the hospital, who preferred not to be named, told the FE that they have resumed only emergency services.

He said that only patients injured during the 2024 July uprising are currently admitted at the hospital.

He said that all other regular patients have left the hospital over the past week.

Meanwhile, a four-member medical board formed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with the doctors from other hospitals are assessing the condition of the admitted patients.
