Dhaka, April 5 -- An emergency meeting, convened by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus to discuss the US tariff issue, was started at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka on Saturday evening.

Top experts, advisers, and officials joined the meeting that started at 7:30 pm, with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair.

US President Donald Trump recently announced the imposition of new tariffs on goods from more than a hundred countries.

As a result, Bangladeshi export products will now face an additional 37 per cent supplementary tariff upon entering the US
