Dhaka, March 30 -- Muslims across Bangladesh will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, their biggest religious festival, tomorrow (Monday) after a month of fasting.
The Shawwal moon was sighted on Sunday evening, confirming the end of Ramadan. Thousands have already left Dhaka to celebrate Eid with their families in their village homes, UNB reports.
Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus is set to offer Eid prayers at the National Eidgah grounds at 8:30 am on Monday (March 31). He will later exchange Eid greetings with dignitaries at his office in Tejgaon, according to Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder.
Television channels and radio stations will air special programmes marking the occasion.
