Dhaka, Dec. 3 -- Students of Dhaka's Eden Mohila College have taken to the streets to press home a five-point demand that includes greater autonomy for the institution.
The protesters descended on the road in front of the college around 11:00 am on Wednesday, chanting slogans to emphasise their demands, reports bdnews24.com.
"They are occupying the road to press for five demands that include autonomy for their institution. We are trying to persuade them to leave," Lalbagh Police Station chief Mostafa Kamal said.
He said that although the students briefly cleared the road, they later returned and resumed the demonstration, disrupting traffic along the busy stretch from Nilkhet to Azimpur Crossing.
