Dhaka, Jan. 28 -- Ahead of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election and referendum, the Election Commission (EC) has imposed restrictions on the movement of certain watercrafts on the polling day as well as before and after it.

In a letter isasued on Tuesday, the EC said in view of the polls, the movement of launches and engine boats - except those operating on designated routes - will remain suspended from midnight of February 11 to midnight of February 12.

However, the restriction may be relaxed with permission from the Returning Officer for contesting candidates and their polling agents, as well as accredited local and foreign observers, reports BSS, citing the notification.
