Dhaka, Feb. 19 -- Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has partnered with Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation (BTF) to strengthen healthcare support for underprivileged patients suffering from thalassemia.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Ziaul Karim, Head of Communications and External Affairs at EBL, recently handed over a cheque to Professor Dr. Syeda Masooma Rahman, Vice-Chairman of BTF, at the bank's head office in Dhaka, according to a media release.

Under this partnership, EBL will support the modernization of BTF's medical facilities by funding advanced equipment such as refrigerated centrifuges, platelet incubators and agitators, plasma freezers, and whole blood refrigerators.
