Dhaka, Jan. 11 -- The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has decided to provide the duty-free facility for import of COVID-19 protective materials -including masks, kits and other personal protective equipment (PPE) - until June 30 this year.

The NBR issued a notification on Sunday extending the timeframe for the facility for another six months, reports BSS.

The notification said the timeframe has been extended to tackle the second wave of COVID-19.

Medical equipment manufacturers, garment manufacturers and government-registered (IRC) pharmaceutical companies are eligible to get the facility.

With the latest extension, the government extended the timeframe for the third time.
