Dhaka, Jan. 8 -- Dhaka University's top policy-making body, the syndicate, has recommended the senate to rename five campus facilities named after Sheikh Hasina's family, including two residential halls.

The proposed changes include renaming Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall to Shahid Osman Hadi Hall and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall to Bir Protik Captain Setara Begum Hall, bdnews24.com reports.

The syndicate also suggested renaming two staff quarters, Russell Tower and Bangabandhu Tower, as well as Sultana Kamal Hostel.

According to a syndicate member, these recommendations were made during a meeting at the Dhaka University Senate on Thursday.
