Dhaka, Sept. 4 -- The Dhaka University (DU) has canceled the previously announced three-day holiday (September 8-10) for the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) election. Instead, classes and examinations will remain suspended only on the voting day, September 9. The decision was announced on Wednesday night at an emergency press briefing by Chief Returning Officer Prof. Jasim Uddin.

"Only September 9 will be a holiday for classes and exams due to the DUCSU election. On September 8 and 10, classes will continue as usual."

According to him, a festive atmosphere is prevailing on the campus centering the polls. "We want to maintain this environment. I hope everyone will cooperate," he added.
