Dhaka, Oct. 14 -- A clash broke out between the students of Dhaka University (DU) and Dhaka College in front of a residential hall over setting up of a tea stall in the early hours of Monday.

The clash erupted around 1:30 am following an argument in which DU students at the Shahnewaz Hall opposed Dhaka College students' attempts to set up the tea stall on the pavement in front of their hall, according to eye-witnesses.

The incident quickly spread on social media, prompting more students from both institutions to join, escalating it into a full-blown clash.

Both sides threw brick-chips and stones at each other, disrupting traffic near Nilkhet intersection and reportedly injuring several students.
