Dhaka, July 17 -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed a notable surge in market activity on Thursday, as improving macroeconomic indicators bolstered investor sentiment.
The day's turnover reached Tk 7.90 billion, marking a 7.53 per cent increase from the previous session and the highest single-day figure in more than eight months.
The last time turnover surpassed this level was in November 2024, when it stood at Tk 8.4 billion.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the prime bourse, advanced by 15.58 points to close at 5,132.48.
The DS30 Index, which tracks blue-chip stocks, gained 15.90 points to end at 1,936.66. Meanwhile, the DSES Index, reflecting Shariah-compliant stocks, rose by 7.74 points to 1,119.80.
