Dhaka, July 16 -- Dr Sheikh Mohiuddin of Ad-din Women's Medical College has become the first elected president of the Bangladesh Private Medical College Association (BPMCA), while Professor Dr Md Moazzem Hossain, chairman of East-West Medical College, has been elected its general secretary.
This is the first time the association has held direct elections for its leadership. The vote took place on Wednesday (16 July) at the CIRDAP auditorium in Dhaka.
Polling ran from 10am to 4pm. Of 110 registered members, 92 cast their votes. A three-member board led by Dr Md Moinul Ahsan oversaw the process.
Dr Muhammad Abdus Sabur from Bashundhara Ad-din Medical College was elected organisational secretary from the Mohiuddin-Mukit panel.
